Baiona owns a non-despicable artistic heritage to show. Its most emblematic building is the Monterreal Fortress, an over-3-km walled and battlemented area, outstanding element of local history. Apart from the fortress, some other examples of civil and religious buildings from different times in history still stand. From present days, a series of monuments commemorating the Arrival of caravel La Pinta to Baiona in 1493 are worth a mention.
