Apart from the Roman Bridge in A Ramallosa, the most notable example of civil art in the council is the Monterreal Fortress. The defensive function it carried out for several centuries, its antiquity and charm answer for its fame. Some other historic works worth seeing are the Roman Bridge in Sabarís or the Fountain of O Pombal. Besides, some noble manors from the 15th and 18th centuries are kept in quite good condition.
